Thermal Pads are a must have and an easy replacement for the health of your Dreamcast! Opening the hood to do some deep cleaning or some mods, replace those pads while you are in there!
These pads are correctly sized and have significantly improved Thermal Conductivity over the originals. The originals are said to have between 2.0 to 4.0W/mk thermal conductivity where as these new pads have a thermal conductivity of 18W/mk!
You will receive a thermal pad for the CPU, GPU and 2 pads on the bottom of the board for power components. You may select 1.0mm or 1.5mm thickness for the CPU/GPU
Installation is easy: 1. Remove the screws from the bottom of the Dreamcast, 2. CAREFULLY Remove the Power Supply, 3. Disconnect the front PCB ribbon and remove the top shielding of the motherboard. 4. Remove the Motherboard. 5. Remove the existing thermal pads and clean the surfaces of both the chips and the power components and shielding. 6. Add the new pads in place where the old were. 7. Reassemble in reverse order!
